Church and Sleights Primary School

The school has strong links with St. John Church and its community. Three members of the P.C.C. are Foundation Governors; the vicar regularly leads Acts of Worship and joins us for services and festivals through the year; we hold our Christingle Service in the church; the younger members of the church choir practice weekly in school and each term members of the church lead a Church Service in School for pupils and parents.

We also use the church building and church yard as an RE resource e.g. "Worship in the Community" (KS") and Baptism (KS1).

Children from Pre-school to Class 4 attend church at least every term. The church service is led by the children working closely with the Vicar and PCC.

KS2 pupils also use Briggswath Methodist Chapel and English Martyrs RC Church as resources for their RE.

Class 4 sing annually in one of the village churches for the World Day of Prayer.

This terms christian values are Respect and Forgiveness.
